Tyler Nguyen’s Journey | Youth on Course
In working with Youth on Course for over a decade, I’ve had the chance to meet a lot of impressive young people, on and off the course.
At this year’s PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, I was introduced to Tyler Nguyen, a Youth on Course alumni who isn’t just a Sunday starter at Santa Teresa Golf Club in San Jose, and he isn’t just an account manager at a bank, Nguyen, 25, founded forelinksgolf, where his goal is to “create premium quality golf gloves at an affordable price for golfers of all levels and backgrounds.”
From solo trips to Indonesia to connect with potential manufacturers to now being on the shelves of two Bay Area courses (Santa Teresa and Corica Park), Nguyen isn’t just making gloves, he’s making quality gloves that he refers to as “Cabsoft.”
Nguyen is quality, and as a beneficiary of subsidized greens fees as a kid, he felt compelled to give back to those who have given to him. Which is why he’s donating $2 of each glove he sells back to Youth on Course.
In addition to this feature, in which we met up with Nguyen at Santa Teresa and had the chance to hear his story, I strongly suggest following him on Instagram (@forelinksgolf) and doing a deeper dive on how he tells his own story.
