A Visual Tribute to Pebble Beach
I first played it in 1990 with my dad, a gift for graduating high school. Cut to 2019 when Steve John paired me with Alfonso Ribeiro and we won the PURE Insurance Championship pro-am. (Thanks, in large part to Alfonso, the pros and the First Tee kids.) I was there in 2000 when Tiger obliterated the field. The first time I told Katie Ginella I loved her was at Pebble Beach. I played it one day with a best friend who was battling cancer. That land, walk, scenery and the shots you get to hit is best described as special. As Alan Shipnuck once wrote: “The beauty is unsurpassed and so is the drama created by so many thrilling, famous holes. No golfing life is complete until you’ve experienced Pebble’s coastline, following in the footsteps of Nicklaus, Watson and Woods and an untold number of everyday dreamers.” A dream came true for me when I stood on that ica trophy with Baby Bandon in my arms
